Free drop in Cyanotype workshop with Nikki. A great family friendly hands-on photography event.
Discover the magic of one of photography’s oldest printing techniques in this hands-on Cyanotype Portrait Workshop, led by photographer Nikki Mabbitt. All materials provided.
Cyanotype is a fascinating camera-less photographic process that uses UV light to create striking monochromatic prints in the iconic blue colour.
Throughout this relaxed drop-in workshop, you’ll have the chance to experiment with the process using digital negatives and natural materials, creating your own unique portrait-inspired artworks to take home. Whether you’re completely new to photography or simply curious to try something different, this is a wonderful opportunity to get creative and learn a historic photographic technique.
The workshop is suitable for all ages, with under 16s warmly welcome when accompanied by a parent or guardian, who must remain in attendance throughout the session.
Although the event operates as a drop-in, we’d appreciate you booking a place in advance to help us plan numbers and ensure the best experience for everyone. And please do consider leaving us a donation to go towards the event.
Come along, get hands-on, and create something beautifully blue as part of Humberlands Photography Festival 2026.
